ABOUT Awakening Balance

HOW WE STARTED

OUR STORY

Christina was born in France and started dancing at a young age. She moved to the US at a teenager and discovered Yoga and the health benefits of detox after going through some health challenges. In the year 2000, She received her 200RYT at Peachtree Yoga Center and taught Yoga full time in Atlanta for many years. She went to Thailand a few years later to receive her certification in Thai Bodywork and has helped many in this form of healing. She trained with Sarah Powers in Yin Yoga at the Kripalu institute in 2007 and this style became her favorite to teach up to now

In 2008, she completed her 500RYT. After an intense car accident and much pain, she trained in trauma release methods  and Ayurveda that helped her regain control of her health and life. She co-owned Yoga Wellness of Blue Ridge studio for a few years where she taught Yoga Teacher trainings. She now manages a beautiful retreat center called Heartwood Health and Yoga in Blue Ridge and offers trainings there once a year

She does Ayurvedic, Thai Bodywork, private Yoga and Emotional trauma release sessions during the week, in person at Heartwood Health and Yoga Center or online and manages retreats during the weekends.  She offers CE classes, workshops, and is the organizer of Dancing Tree Festival every other year, a wonderful Yoga and sacred music festival that happens in the same neighborhood as the center.

Reviews

Christina is kind and generous in helping those that surround her. She naturally treats every child like her own and everyone as an equal and friend.

She is one of the strongest woman that I know hands down, and I know she would do anything to protect and provide for her family. She ‘s also one of the funniest people I know, always has people laughing with her silliness. I’m so blessed to know her and so grateful for everything she’s done for me! She is my favorite yoga teacher and has helped so many people heal and improve their lives. She is an amazing speaker and singer, and takes people to another world in her yoga classes.

Christina brings so much love and genuine care as well as a sincere down-to-earth-ness that you don’t always find in yoga teachers. She knows her students and what they need.  It’s not about her, in other words. I love how she uses her humor to put people at ease and her lovely voice to help create a calm atmosphere.
